Biography: Samantha Mathis is an American actress.   She was born in Brooklyn, New York to Vienna-born Bibi Besch, a very talented actress in her own right who died of cancer in 1996 at the age of 56.   Samantha is the grand-daughter of actress Gusti Huber, Bibi's mother.
