  • Biography: Shu Qi is the stage name of a Taiwanese actress born Lin Li-hui. Shu Qi began as a model for adult magazines and other erotic photography. It did not take long for her to be starred in various Asian soft porn films before eventually switching to mainstream films. She sas a "manic" acting style, which (unfortunately) has won her detractors. However she has proved her acting credibility by winning the prestigous Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan (regarded as the "Asian Oscars") for Best Supporting Actress. She has also received a nomination for Best Actress from the Golden Horse Awards. Is currently going out with Canto-pop singer and actor Leon Lai. Appeared with Jackie Chan in the wonderful romantic-comedy Bor lei jun (1999) ('Gorgeous').  Despite having one of the most appealing faces in Chinese cinema, she has never learned English, and because of this has rarely appeared in American or international films.
