When a young boy is torn from his comfortable foster home and forced to endure mental and physical abuses while in the custody of his drug-addled and promiscuous mother (Asia Argento), the child tragically comes to emulate the self-destructive behaviors of those around him. The "autobiographical" works of J. T. LeRoy--from which Argento adapted this blistering drama--were later revealed to be the writings of novelist Laura Albert.
