A small-town mortician (Robert Donovan) reanimates the recently deceased with the help of a secret serum. The potion keeps the cadavers functioning for a few hours as mindless zombies that commit crimes at the undertaker's request, but the local police chief (Jeff Fahey) is aiming to take down the madman's gang of ghouls--dead or undead!
